Man Indicted in Varsity Mart Robbery

JACKSON, Tenn. - A Jackson man accused of three armed robberies in two days was indicted by a Madison County Grand jury, Monday.
Paul Cheairs, 19, was indicted on three counts of aggravated robbery.
On May 12, Cheairs is accused of wearing a mask as he walked into the Varsity Market on Oil Well Road and robbing the store. The following day, May 12, police believe Cheairs robbed the Royal Street Discount Store at gunpoint while wearing a mask. About two hours later, he is charged with robbing the BP on North Highland Avenue using the same tactics.
No one was injured in any of the robberies.
Cheairs was arrested on May 19. He is scheduled to be officially charged on this indictment on December 10. He remains in custody at the Madison County Jail.
