JACKSON, Tenn. Jackson and Madison County leaders are gearing up for a new year with new changes. One of the biggest is a new anchor for downtown, The Jackson Walk Neighborhood.

"The shopping is great. A lot of shopping a lot of places we can go when use to have to go to Memphis or Nashville to shop. It's a lot of shopping growth here and I'm excited about that too," said Paula Jordan.

Jackson Walk is promised to bring many people from surrounding cities to the area. Katy Leatherwood traveled from Corinth, Mississippi to shop in Jackson.

"We come up here and eat, shop several places it's one of our favorite places to come," said Leatherwood.

Another big additions this year will be the Madison County Veterans Service Office, the first in the county will open on Monday, January 7.
