Milan Firefighters Investigating Suspicious Blaze

MILAN, Tenn. - An early morning fire in Milan has firefighters searching for what started the blaze that damaged a vacant home.

The fire was reported on Ellis Street around midnight, and was extinguished in about an hour.

The fire chief is calling it suspicious because it happened at a vacant house that does not have electricity.

No one was in the house when firefighters responded.

The fire may have started near the fireplace. The house suffered extensive smoke damage.

The cause remains under investigation.
