Milan Officer Indicted on Sex Charges
MILAN, Tenn. - The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested a suspended Milan police officer, Monday.
According to a news release, after the Gibson County grand jury returned a total of 24 indictments against him after a TBI investigation involving allegations of sexual misconduct.
Adam Scott Martin, 39, of Atwood, Tenn. was indicted on 18 counts of rape, one count of incest, one count of aggravated sexual battery, one count of sexual battery by an authority figure and three counts of sexual battery. The TBI originally arrested Martin in July of 2012 on one count of sexual battery by an authority figure against a 19‐year‐old female. That charge is included in today’s indictments and all
the charges involve the same victim.
The 28th Judicial District Attorney General’s Office originally requested the investigation which is being prosecuted by a special prosecutor in the 24th Judicial District Attorney General’s Office.
Martin was booked into the Gibson County Jail on $150,000 bond. His arraignment is scheduled for November 13, 2012.
