Milan Police Officer Arrested on Sexual Battery Charge
MILAN, Tenn. - The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested a Milan Police Officer earlier this week after an investigation involving sexual misconduct.
Milan Police Officer Adam Scott Martin, 39, was arrested on July 3 and charged with one count of Sexual Battery by an Authority Figure against a 19 year old female.
He was released from the Gibson County Jail the same date on $15,000.00 bond. His initial appearance date is July 10, 2012, in the General Sessions Court of Gibson County.
According to the warrant, Martin is accused of fondling a female relative on July 2.
An order of protection has also been filed preventing Martin from contact with the victim or family members.
Milan Police Chief Tim Wright declined comment on the case, but did say Martin had been suspended with pay.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation began the looking into the case at the request of District Attorney General Garry Brown.
