ALAMO, Tenn.-The family of a Crockett County man is happy after a man who went missing was found.

According to the Crockett County Sheriff's Department, Ronnie Maupin, 57, went missing Thursday evening while apparently looking for arrowheads near the Quincy community in Crockett County.

Investigators said around 12:30 p.m. Friday, a neighbor found Maupin walking up the bank of a ditch along Highway 152 in the northeastern part of the county. The neighbor drove Maupin to the the search command post.

Maupin had been missing for about 30 hours and had apparently walked the length of a creek to make his way out of a wooded area just before he was found.

Around 30 people and law enforcement had been searching for Maupin in the north part of the county near the intersection of Highways 152 and 54.

"We recommend that people always keep a general idea of where they are," said Sgt. Allan Gilliland of the Crockett County Sheriff's Department. "If they are out doing doing something like this , looking around, always make sure they know where they are at."

Maupin, who appeared to be tired and confused, was taken to a Humboldt Hospital to be checked out.
