Mom and Son Arrested After Dollar General Theft

BRADFORD, Tenn.- A Gibson County mother and son have been arrested, accused of teaming up to steal from the Dollar General store in Bradford.

According to Bradford police, Frances Hammond, 46, of Trenton, is charged with theft of property under $500. Investigators said workers at the store called 911 after seeing items fall out of Hammond's coat. She is accused of grabbing several video games and electronics, totally $488.55.

Her son, Robert Pierson, 27, of Milan, is accused of driving the getaway car. Gibson County deputies stopped the vehicle within seconds. Pierson is charged by the Gibson County Sheriff's Department with driving offenses in connection with the stop.

As of Friday afternoon, Gibson County Jail records showed Pierson was free on bond while Hammond remained jailed.
