Murder in Crockett County Under Investigation

CROCKETT COUNTY, Tenn. - A Crockett County mother made a shocking discovery, Thursday afternoon. Investigators said she was the one who found her son's slain body in the family's home near Bells. According to Crockett County Sheriff Troy Klyce, the victim has been identified as Matt McKnight, 40.
Hours after the initial 1:20 p.m. call to 911, crime scene investigators with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation remained on the scene gathering evidence. The home is in the 2700-block of Gum Flat Road.
According to the sheriff, McKnight lived with his parents, but they were not at home at the time of the crime.
The sheriff said McKnight was shot, but could not say that was how he died. However, the case is being investigated as a murder.
