Pringles Park is getting an upgrade with the arrival of a high-tech upgrade.
Workers will begin installing the park's new jumbotron over the next couple of days. A new computer system will be installed with the new board that will allow higher resolution videos.
The new LED jumbotron will replace the existing system that became unrepairable after lightening struck the board several times.
Jackson City Council members approved the $300,000 board at its January meeting.
"As soon as the electrical is run to it, they're in the control room working on the front end control system, that'll be finished up here in just a few," said Craig Katt\, vice president of sports and entertainment. "And then they hopefully, if the electrical all set, we'll be ready to go."
Jackson Generals mascot, Sarge will turn on the new board just before Sunday's game. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
