New Self-Service Driver's License Kiosks Unveiled

MEMPHIS, Tenn.- If you are getting ready to renew your driver's license, the state of Tennessee is opening self-service kiosks that allow you to renew or replace licenses and state identification cards.

Locations in West Tennessee that have opened are Shelby, Dyer and Lauderdale Counties.

As a security measure, the kiosks perform facial verification with the image on record. License or ID cards are mailed to applicants home withing 5 to 7 business days.

State leaders said it will hopefully reduce lines and wait times at driver's license testing stations.

The kiosks will be installed at places like AAA offices and local government offices.
