New Warning System could Save Time in Alerting Public

PICKWICK, Tenn. - West Tennessee emergency officials are meeting this week to discus an Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS).

The new alert system will help alert public safety officials about different emergencies on several different systems, including the NOAA Weather Radio and mobile phone text messages.

Emergency authorities say the new integrated system could save valuable time when alerting the public, especially during events such as severe weather.
