JACKSON, Tenn.- Congratulations to the North Side High School's ROTC program.
Monday, the school recognized the "Blue Thunder" Air Force Junior ROTC for its accomplishment.
The team earned national champion honors during the national high school drill team competition held over the weekend in Daytona Beach, Florida. This is the first year student cadets from North Side have competed at the national level.
"It was an amazing feeling for us, for a team for the first time. To go down and actually win was awesome," said Jacob Harris,North Side Color Guard Commander.
The ROTC program is not a recruiting program, but is a program that teaches discipline and patriotism to high school students.
