A fatal wreck on Humboldt Road and Windy City Road, Thursday night has some Madison County residents on edge.

The Madison County Sheriff's Department said despite Thursday's deadly crash, the number of accidents, injuries, and fatalities have decreased over the last three years.

The intersection had its last fatal crash in 2008, according to officials.
Officials said they have reduced speeds and created larger stop signs for drivers.

Residents said the lower numbers are good, but commuters who speed through their neighborhood is not.

"It makes me nervous. I've had one friend years ago killed on that road. So I'm always very extra cautious," said Madison County resident Linda McCullar.

McCullar and her husband, Mike have lived on Old Humboldt Road for a little more than 20 years. They said theywould like to see flashing caution lights along the road to slow down drivers.
