One Dead, One Injured in Weakley County Shooting

One man is dead and another injured after a shooting in Weakley County.
According to the Weakley County Sheriff's Department, a 68 year old man stopped in the 7900 block of Palmersville Highway 89 just after 10:00 a.m. Friday and asked someone to call an ambulance because he had been shot.
He also reportedly told people on the scene that he had shot Roy McAlpin, 64, at his lawnmower repair shop north of Palmersville.
When deputies arrived at the shop, they found McAlpin dead of a gunshot wound to the chest.
The man who was found on the highway was flown to Vanderbilt Medical center with gun shot wounds to his chest and arm. His condition was not available.
Weakley County deputies are investigating the case and expect to present the case to a grand jury at a later date.
