One Killed, One Injured in Independence Day Crash

HENDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. - One person was killed and another injured in an Independence Day crash in Henderson County.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the one car wreck happened in the 2200 block of Sticky Ridge Road at the intersection with Old Reagan Road just after 8:30 p.m.

The accident report indicates Ford pickup truck being driven by a 20-year-old man was eastbound on Sticky Ridge Road when the driver lost control. The truck left the roadway, overturned and the passenger was ejected.

The passenger, Evan Kyle Carter, 20, of Sardis, was killed and the driver was injured in the crash.

Investigators believe speed was a factor in the wreck.
