JACKSON, Tenn. - From pies to baseball, Jacksonians are getting in the spirit for an unlikely day. The infinite number, 3.14 is the ratio between the circumference and diameter of a circle.

"It's a very important ratio actually, it's 3.1416 and goes to infinity it never stops I don't know why or how it works but it sure works," said Dumpling's Owner, Dick Ramsey.

The Jackson Generals baseball team, for example offered reduced prices on tickets for the day.

"For today only were doing general admission tickets for $3.14. You can get them for any game in our entire season," said Jason Compton.

He says people can buy the tickets with a special code.

"Minor league baseball is all about fun and quirky promotions so today being March 14...Pi Day...3.14 and a bunch of other numbers we decided to have a Pi Day special," said Compton.
