PARIS, Tenn. -- A mother in in jail after a her two-year-old was reportedly found walking in the street alone, Saturday night.

The child, who was cold to the touch, was dressed in shorts, a t-shirt and no socks or shoes.

Officers knocked on doors around Paris and found Sarah Cole's neighbor who told police he thought the mother next door had a child around that age.

The responding officer went to Cole's house and asked her if she had a two-year-old son at home and Cole reportedly responded, "I think so".

Cole said that she was in the bathroom for the last 15-20 minutes when her son was missing. The responding officer said that Cole's speech was slow and slurred. He also observed that there was a strong smell of marijuana and a marijuana shaker on the floor.

At this time, the officer arrested Cole for child neglect. She was transported to the sheriff's office without incident.
