Person of Interest Questioned in Club Sinsations Shooting
JACKSON, Tenn. – Jackson police confirmed they took a person of interest into custody, Monday, in connection with the homicide outside Club Sinsations. No formal charges were filed against the person.
Police said that early Sunday, July 14, officers responded after shots were fired in the area of Club Sinsations on Bond Street. Police found Raymon Carpenter, 26, of Nashville, lying in the parking lot with gunshot wounds.
Carpenter was taken to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital and was pronounced head around an hour later.
Police believe Carpenter had an argument with people in the club who followed him outside. Investigators said they believe one of the members of that group may have been the person who shot Carpenter.
Officials have asked that anyone with cell phone video from the club the night of the shooting contact them at 731.425.8400.
We will have more details in the case as they become available.
