Person of Interest in Homicide Questioned, Not Facing Charges Right Now
JACKSON, Tenn. – The man Jackson police searched for in connection with an East Jackson homicide has turned himself in.
Police said Carlos Ross turned himself in, Thursday night.
Investigators questioned Ross about the incident and are not filing any charges against him as of Friday morning. Jackson Police Captain Tyreece Miller said that the case file will be turned over to the district attorney’s office for review and it will be up to them to determine if Ross will be charged with any crime.
Ross is being held in the Madison County Jail on a probation violation out of Davidson County.
Jackson police said Clinton Berry, 49, and his 53-year-old girlfriend were shot around 3:00 a.m. Wednesday at Richcove Apartments on Berry Street. Berry died from his wounds and his girlfriend was taken to The MED in Memphis.
Police believe Berry was in a physical altercation with another man at the apartment complex before he was shot.
