Police Identify Trio Charged in Home Invasion
JACKSON, Tenn. - Jackson police have identified the three people arrested and charged in an early Thursday morning home invasion.
Sommer Cruz and Jonathan Harris, both of Jackson, were arraigned Thursday morning in Jackson City Court on charges of aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery. Cruz was released on $30,000 bond and Harris remains in custody at the Madison County Jail on the same bond amount.
Police arrested a second man around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday in connection with the home invasion. Reginald McGowan, 36, of Jackson, in the area of North Highland Avenue and Campbell Street. Officers reported he ran from them and was arrested in a ditch near the intersection. McGowan is scheduled to be arraigned Friday morning in Jackson City Court on charges of aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery and evading arrest.
The incident happened around 2:00 a.m. Wednesday when the McGowan and Harris allegedly entered a trailer on the 80 block of Century Street in Rolling Acres Mobile Estates. The pair are accused of robbing the occupants at gunpoint.
The pair fled from the scene. Police arrested Harris in a nearby wood line and Cruz, 34, who was sitting in an SUV. Officers reportedly recovered a mask and two shotguns, one of which was sawed-off, at the scene.
Investigators believe that Cruz had brought Harris and McGowan to Rolling Acres and was the apparent getaway driver.
