Police Investigating Drowning at a Residence

Jackson, Tenn. - Police are investigating an apparent drowning at a local residence.

Police and E.M.S. were called to a residence on Willow Green Drive just before noon, Wednesday.

Investigators said David Ellison, 55, was found unresponsive in the swimming pool and could not be revived.

According to police, the preliminary investigation indicates that Ellison, who was the homeowner, went out around 8:00 a.m. to perform maintenance on the swimming pool. Family became concerned after some time had passed without seeing him, and his son discovered him in the pool.

Ellison's body will be transported to the state Medical Examiner's Office in Nashville to determine the exact cause of death.
