MEDINA, Tenn.- A suspended South Gibson County High School teacher and coach WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News first told you about last week is being investigated by two local law enforcement agencies.

Jackson police have confirmed they are investigating Kendall Bell, along with the Gibson County Sheriff's Department. Investigators said their case is criminal in nature, but said nothing further, nor have they said when more information will be available.

According to a letter from Superintendent Eddie Pruett, Bell was taken out of the classroom and off the soccer field last Wednesday. Pruett said Bell's suspension was due to what he called suspected unprofessional conduct.

Bell was hired in August of 2011 and serves as an inclusion specialist and head coach of the boys' soccer team at South Gibson County High.

Bell is currently suspended without pay.
