Police Link Burned SUV to Grocery Store Robbery

JACKSON, Tenn. – Jackson police have linked a burned sport utility vehicle found on Henderson Road to the armed robbery of a local grocery story.

According to investigators, two masked gunmen stormed the Food Giant on Christmasville Road around 8:00 p.m., Sunday. Victims told officers that everyone inside, both employees and customers, was held at gunpoint as the store was robbed.

The victims describe the gunmen as black men, around 5' 10" tall. Both are said to have a small build and were reportedly wearing black masks. Each robber was holding a hand gun, according to witnesses.

Police said there were about 10 people inside the store at the time. They were all forced to hand over their cell phone. No physical injuries were reported.

The suspects ran from the store and were seen getting into a dark SUV. It was witnessed turning west onto Ridgecrest Extended Road.
