Police: Man Arrested at UT Martin had Molotov Cocktails in Vehicle

A former University of Tennessee at Martin student was arrested on campus after allegedly threatening to assault a former girlfriend and a male friend.
According to a news release, Maxwell T. Williams, 20, of Yorkville, was arrested around 7:00 p.m. Tuesday after campus police were notified of the threats by the female, who is a student at the university.
Williams allegedly came onto campus with several items in his vehicle that could have been used to assault the pair including what appeared to be Molotov cocktails.
The suspect’s vehicle was quickly stopped in a parking lot on campus and secured by officers with the University’s Department of Public Safety. Officials stated that the vehicle and immediate area were quickly secured, and Williams was arrested.
Williams is charged with four felony counts: reckless endangerment, possession of a prohibited weapon, illegal possession of a weapon on campus and aggravated stalking.
Campus officials said that because of the victim’s quick call to authorities and the quick work of UT Martin police, the situation was quickly controlled.
