A late night shooting that sent a suspected burglary to the hospital is still under investigation by the Jackson Police Department.

It happened just before 10, Wednesday night when a 21-year-old California man was shot through a door at a home in the 300 block of Harts Bridge Road in south Jackson. Officers said it appears the man was shot during an attempted burglary while wielding a machete and screaming while beating on a rear glass door. No one inside the home was hurt.

Though investigators interviewed the people who live in the home, no arrests have been made. The shooting victim was taken to a local hospital and was last listed in serious condition.
