Police: Man Strangled Girlfriend and Stole Man's Wheelchair

JACSKON, Tenn. – A Jackson man is jailed after he allegedly strangled his girlfriend and stole a man’s wheelchair.

Police said Stanley Bond allegedly stole a man’s Renegade Power wheelchair from the lobby area of the New Southern around 9:45 a.m., Monday. At the time of the report, police did not who stole the wheelchair.

Almost three hours later, Bond’s girlfriend contacted police and said he had been drinking, got upset during an argument and then strangled her. According to court documents, the woman advised that he “had his hands around her neck so tight, it caused her to lose her breath.”

After that complaint, police began looking for Stanley Bond. Officers were able to locate him at the JTA Bus Station. When police found him, he was reportedly sitting in the stolen wheelchair.

Bond is charged with theft of property over $500 and aggravated domestic assault. His bond was set at $10,000.
