Police Searching For Stolen Guns in McNairy County

RAMER, Tenn. - Stolen guns in McNairy county have officers searching the streets and neighbors on high alert.

"It's kind of scary, and it's just too close," neighbor Melissa Ingle said.

Investigators said a thief entered the home through a door on the side porch, breaking a window to get inside. Neighbors and authorities believe the burglar knew the home and had a specific target in mind.

"Apparently the way the tracks were that Dennis (the theft victim) described, they went straight to where the gun cabinet and wherever else he had the guns located," Ingle said.

The stolen guns were a 410 single shot black, stainless shotgun, a Marlin 30-30 with a medallion in the stock, a 20 GA Ted Williams pump shotgun, and a 12 GA Mossberg 500.

If caught, the thief or thieves face felony charges of aggravated burglary and theft over $500.

Some neighbors said this burglary is just the latest crime on Houston Cemetery Road. And as the crimes increase, they are becoming less and less comfortable living in the area.

"It seems like they're targeting different places," Ingle said. "It scares me because you never know if you're going to be the next one."

If you have any information in this case, call the McNairy County Sheriff's Department.
