Police Searching for Animal Drug Thief

Heather Mathis

WEAKLEY CO., Tenn.- Martin Police are searching for a man they said forced his way into the Weakley County Animal Clinic and stole drugs and money.

The owner of the clinic, Dr. Joe Adcock, told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News the thief took three different medications, and some could be dangerous to humans.

"What are they doing with these drugs?" asked Dr. Adcock. "Are they taking them themselves? Are they selling them to someone else? They could be life threatening, very dangerous."

The clinic said one of the drugs taken is ten times stronger than a human dose of the pill.

"They are intended for animals!" said worried technician, Sarah Baringer. "Animals metabolize things so much differently than humans, so there is no telling what would happen."

If you recognize the man or have information that can help call Martin Police at (731) 587-5355.
