Jackson, Tenn. - Jackson police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a woman they believe stole another woman’s wallet at Kroger on North Parkway in Jackson.

According to police, the victim was going through the handicap check out line on the evening of June 12. When she was looking for her checkbook, the victim dropped her purse and many of the contents fell out onto the floor.

A seemingly good Samaritan helped the victim pick up her purse, but police said she can clearly be seen pulling the wallet out of the purse and hiding it. The suspect then reportedly left the store.

The theft suspect is described as a black female and can be seen in the video wearing a black shirt with a gold cross on it.

If you can identify the woman in the photos, call the Jackson Police Department (731) 425-8400 or Crime Stoppers (731) 424-8477.
