Police Seek Identity of Man Who Stole Groceries from Elderly Women

JACKSON, Tenn.- Who would steal groceries from two women old enough to be grandmothers?

Police said a man was caught by surveillance cameras in the foyer of the Walmart in north Jackson. He was seen standing out by the women's cart of groceries. They were seen sitting on a nearby bench, waiting on their ride home. Then he grabs the handle of the cart and just walks away with the groceries.

Early Thursday evening, WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News spoke with one of the victims about the theft.

"Yea it angers me to think someone could be that.... stupid! That's what I call it stupid," said victim Tootsie Stines.

The ladies, who live at an assisted living center said they did not see the theft. They had actually gone to get on their shuttle bus while the driver went to get their groceries only to find they were gone.
