Police: Suspect Reported Chest Pains after Running from Officers
JACKSON, Tenn. – A Jackson man is behind bars after he allegedly burglarized a business, ran from police and had to be taken to the hospital for chest pains.
According to a news release, Charles Darby, 49, is charged with burglary, theft of property over $1,000 and vandalism under $500.
Police responded to a call of a suspicious person behind a closed business in the 1400 block of Hollywood Drive, Tuesday. Officers from the gang unit and patrol division confronted the suspect near the scene and then he reportedly fled the area on foot. He was reportedly chased across the US 45 Bypass where he was captured behind NAPA Auto Parts on Commerce Circle.
After the chase, officers took Darby to JMCGH after complaining of chest pain that occurred as he ran from police.
