Quidditch Cup Raises Money for Starving Children

Students at Freed-Hardeman University held the 2nd Annual Quidditch Cup and it was all for a great cause.

Teams made up of students gathered brooms and even capes for the Quidditch Cup, based on the sport made popular in the Harry Potter series.

So far, the group has raised more than $200, but hope to raise $400 to $500. All proceeds from this year's event will go toward the "Feed My Starving Children" fundraiser.

"As a college we like to do something active instead of eating or just sitting at a dinner and this gives something that everyone can do like they can compete and that is alot of fun," said June Wallace, event organizer.

The championship for the Quidditch Cup will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Freed-Hardeman University.
