ADAMSVILLE, Tenn. - A fugitive from West Tennessee was caught Sunday in McNairy County, according to officials.

After several days on the run, murder suspect Justin Treece was arrested Sunday, after leading officers on a two county chase in his car and on foot.

Treece was wanted by Dickson Police, who believe he has some involvement regarding a New Year's Day murder at a Holiday Inn Express in Dickson.

According to McNairy County officials, Treece's maroon Chevy Blazer was spotted near an area bordering both Chester and McNairy Counties. Sheriff's deputies from surrounding counties assisted with the search.

McNairy County Sheriff Guy Buck said Treece spotted deputies, and then took off in his car before it broke down. He then ran through a wooded area, where authorities tracked his footsteps for more than a mile before finding Treece, who surrendered near Pickens Road in McNairy County.

Sheriff Buck said the pursuit was not easy.

"It's not really unusual in a rural county, but the terrain made it extremely difficult today," Buck said.

Buck said residents can now breath a sigh of relief.

"We're not currently hunting for anyone else in the county, so everyone can take a deep breath and relax."
