Residents Speak Out About Teen Shooting
JACKSON, Tenn. - A shooting in East Jackson involving two teenagers has residents now questioning their own safety.
The incident that happened on Friday night near Phillips Street, has outraged residents near a senior apartment complex.
"When it happened, I said, 'Oh Lord I can't believe it happened down here,'" said resident Betty Maness.
According to police, two males, ages 15 and 17, were shot in the feet while standing outside near Everett Street and Holland Avenue. While running, the victims ended up on Phillips Street, where they were then transported to the hospital.
Maness and other residents said before this incident they considered their street safe and quiet.
No word on suspects in this case.
