Residents Walk in Memory of Newtown Victims

HUNTINGDON, Tenn- Cities across the U.S. are honoring the victims of the Newtown Connecticut shooting. Residents in one West Tennessee County remembered the victims in their own way. It is called "Walk 27".

Huntingdon residents walked 27 minutes for the 27 people, including the gunman and 20 children, who lost their lives in last week's school shooting.

Residents met in downtown Huntingdon, starting the morning off with a prayer and a moment of silence for the victims. At the end of the walk, 27 balloons were released in their memory.

"We're showing our support. It could have been our schools. It didn't have to be Connecticut. It could have been here in Huntingdon," said Kristina Murdock, Organizer of Huntingdon's "Walk 27".

Families in Connecticut were still saying their farewells as more funerals were held throughout the day.
