10 semi-finalist are competing in SCORE'S 2013 Students Rise to the Challenge scholarship contest. Two of them are from South Side High School, which is the only high school representing West Tennessee.

Win or lose, one of the finalists said she could not be more proud to be part of the contest.

"Yes, it's amazing to get to be even in the top 10 even if I don't win the $500 scholarship, it's amazing even to be in top 10 for anything," said
Erika Barragan, an 11th Grader at South Side High School.
