It was a reason to celebrate at Sacred Heart of Jesus High School, Friday. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to commemorate the school's new home.
The new facility is about three-times the size of the old building. School officials said the additional space will be really helpful and allow them to grow. It includes more classrooms as well as additional office spaces will be added.
"Already we have kids coming from Henderson, we have people coming from Bolivar, we have people coming from Brownsville and with our new school, we're gonna be able to increase, not only enrollment but really increase and strengthen our curriculum because we have more space to expand," said Principal Robin Perry of Sacred Heart of Jesus High School.
There are still two more weeks to go until school starts at Sacred Heart. The fire marshal was at the facility, Friday conducting final inspections.
