Saltillo Getting Floating Docks for Riverfront

SALTILLO, Tenn. - The city of Saltillo is getting floating docks to improve its riverfront.

City leaders made the announcement Tuesday, after recently getting approval from the Tennessee Valley Authority.

Officials said the new docks will impact not just Saltillo, but all of West Tennessee. Fishermen and boaters from all over the area use their riverfront. They said the docks will make it more convenient for visitors so they will have a place to tie up their boats.

Mayor Larry Lowery told 7 Eyewitness News the city plans to put the docks out in the water in the next two months.

The city recently installed new lights and benches for the riverfront.
