JACKSON, Tenn.- The Jackson-Madison County School Board voted unanimously to get rid of the old Pinson School building.
The nine-person board voted to sell the facility to the Pinson Ruritan Club for $1. The group has leased the building for years. It is also used by other community groups.
Last month, a series of storms caused part of the roof to collapse on the old school, located in South Madison County.
Inspectors said the back portion of the building remains structurally sound despite the roof collapse in the front.
