Second Arrest Made in Connection with Friendship Police Chief's Shooting
The search for a second suspect is over, in connection with the Dollar General Burglary in Friendship which led to the shooting of Chief Bill Garret.
According to reports 56-year-old Guary Lee Wallace is the man investigators believe accompanied Craig Barbee in the burglary and shooting two weeks ago. Wallace was located in Shelby County and placed under arrest by the TBI, Thursday afternoon. He is being charged with Criminal Responsibility and Aggravated Robbery.
Residents say they're relieved that Wallace is off the streets.
"You know your not gonna walk into them when you turn the corner or when you step through the doors of the Dollar General or when you look up when the front door of the bank here opens," said Resident Lisa Myrick.
Wallace remains in custody of the Crockett County Sheriff Department. Chief Garrett continues to recover at home.
