OBION COUNTY, Tenn.- Union City Police are searching for one man accused of hitting his estranged girlfriend with a car then running away from the scene.

Officers say they are looking for Beauyett Young, 55 of Union City, who is accused of ramming and pinning his estranged girlfriend with his car during an argument, Friday night. The victim was taken to an area hospital where she remains in treatment.

Police said she is recovering from a broken bones to her pelvis.

"The whole neighborhood needs to be involved," said neighbor Sandy Jones. "They need to find the guy I think they ought to put out an APB on him and just get everybody involved."

The victim told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News that the violent attack started over a disagreement about clothes in the dryer. She said she drove to her brother's home on East Church Street, to get away.

Eyewitnesses told police Young followed the woman there. He was seen beating on her car outside. Police said Young then got into his car, hit the gas and pinned the victim up against her passenger side door.

"Well if he's doing something like that there is no telling what he could do to anybody out here," said Jones.

Investigators said Young drove away and hasn't been seen since. Police said there is an active warrant on Young for Aggravated Assault.

The victim tells us she last saw Young driving a 2005 white Malibu car.
