Seven Arrested in the Bemis Area after Home Searched

JACKSON, Tenn. – Seven people were arrested and charged after a search by the Jackson-Madison County Metro Narcotics Unit.

Officers served the search warrant at 105 Carroll Street in the Bemis area, Monday. The reported that after a search, authorities found several packages of Marijuana, Hydrocodone pills, Methlphenidate pills, Pseudoephedrine pills, digital scales, drug packaging materials, a loaded .40 caliber handgun and a switchblade knife, along with various pieces of drug paraphernalia.

Police identified those arrested as:

Preston Lamar Haynes, age 20, of 105 Carroll Street was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell or Deliver, Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Substance, Possession of a Firearm in commission of a Dangerous Felony, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was arraigned in Jackson City Court and has been released after posting a bond.

James Oscar Brawner, age 51, of 105 Carroll Street was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell or Deliver, Possession of a Firearm in commission of a Dangerous Felony, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was arraigned in Jackson City Court and is still being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond.

Tyrone Demarcus Brawner, age 27, of 38 Hunt Street in Jackson was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell or Deliver and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was arraigned in Jackson City Court and is still being held in lieu of a $2,500 bond.

James Arthur Lloyd, Jr., age 40, of 105 Carroll Street was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell or Deliver and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was arraigned in Jackson City Court and has been released after posting a $2,500 bond.

Ciarra Antionette Morris, age 26, of 45 North Avenue in Jackson was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell or Deliver and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was arraigned in Jackson City Court and has been released after posting a bond.

Jacob Allen Crawford, age 25, of 105 Carroll Street was charged with Tampering with Evidence and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was arraigned in Jackson City Court and is still being held in lieu of a $2,500 bond.

Jonathan Ward Smith, age 39, of 105 Carroll Street was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell or Deliver, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell or Deliver, Promotion of Methamphetamine Manufacture and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was arraigned in Jackson City Court and has been released after posting a $5,000 bond.
