Seventh Arrest in Antwan Brooks Murder

JACKSON, Tenn.- Jackson Police have arrested a seventh member of the Gangster Disciples Street Gang, indicted in the murder of Antwan Brooks.

Officers have confirmed Exavier Ingram, 23, was arrested Friday, the same day he was indicted by a specially called Madison County Grand Jury. He was schedule to be officially charged with first degree murder and felony murder, Tuesday.

The other men who were indicted on the same charges and remain jailed without bond. They were Terrell Reid, Jonique Merriweather, James Roberson, Michael Smith, Frank Massengill and Byron Purdy. Investigators said they are still actively searching for other fellow gang members who have also been indicted.

The gang of men are accused of beating Antwan Brooks to death on Carolane Drive in west Jackson, August 5.

A reason for their alleged attack has not been given.
