MCNAIRY COUNTY, Tenn. - Residents in Bethel Springs, who were devastated by last week's storms are slowly beginning to get back to normal.

WBBJ 7 Eyewitness caught up with a group of volunteers cutting down trees at Bethel Springs Presbyterian Church.

The volunteers come from several other counties in West Tennessee. They are a part of the Southern Baptist Convention organization and have been helping homeowners since the storm struck.

A volunteer, Allen Houston, said he is glad to help residents get tree limbs off of their property because many of them would not be able to do it themselves.

Mary Jo Maness was stricken with cancer two years ago and appreciates the help of volunteers. She sacrificed her homeowners insurance so she could have health insurance for her family.
