Sex Offenders Wanted After JPD Checkup
7 Eyewitness News Staff
JACKSON, Tenn. - A checkup on registered sex offenders who live in Jackson was conducted by officers, Tuesday. It was found that 38 (70%) were in compliance. Thirteen (24%) offenders were not at home when officers stopped in. Since they were not there, this does not necessarily mean that they are out of compliance. A follow up at a later date will determine that.
Police did not locate two offenders. Robert Lee James, 35, and Wayne Robinson, 33, are wanted for violating the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry Law. State records show both men have previous convictions of statutory rape. James' conviction was in 2001. Robinson's conviction was in 1997.
If you have seen either of the men, call the Jackson Police Department at (731)425-8400 or CrimeStoppers at (731) 424-TIPS.
