Sheriff's Deputy Jailed in Kidnapping and Stabbing Investigation

A Madison County Sheriff's Deputy is in jail after a woman was reportedly kidnapped and stabbed in Jackson.
According to Jackson police, Chad M. Lewis, 29, is now being held in the Madison County Jail.
Around 3:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, Henderson police were called to the E.M.S. station on Quinco Drive after a woman who had been stabbed was brought there by a man identified as Lewis.
Henderson officers reported that the woman's hands were handcuffed in front of her.
Investigators believe Lewis kidnapped his ex-wife from her home in the 60 block of Howeston Mill Drive. He then drove her to his residence at on Old Hickory Boulevard. From there, he took her to the Coca-Cola Bottling Company on North Parkway East where he reportedly stabbed her in the chest. Lewis is believed to have then drove her to Henderson.
Lewis is believed to have thrown the knife used in the crime out of his truck window in Chester County. He was taken into custody by Henderson police.
Jackson police officers went to Henderson and brought Lewis back to Jackson. He was booked in at the Madison County Jail around 5:30 a.m.
The victim was airlifted to the Med in Memphis. She is currently stable in the intensive care unit.
Sheriff's Department officials report that Lewis has been relieved of duty with pay pending the outcome of the investigation.
