Sink Hole Develops in Downtown Paris

HENRY COUNTY Tenn.- An eight foot deep sink hole has developed in downtown Paris according to the city's Public Works Department.

City crews worked all morning to fill the hole located at the intersection of Brewer and Washington Streets.

Director Philip Jessie said he believes it was caused by old clay piping underneath the streets, and heavy traffic traveling along the road.

Jessie told 7 WBBJ Eyewitness News he does not believe more sink holes could develop in other areas downtown.
