JACKSON, Tenn.- When thunderstorms rolled through the area Monday night, several people in northeast Jackson got quite a scare when the storm siren in their area sounded.

Officials with the Jackson-Madison County Emergency Management Agency said the siren in the industrial area on Dr. F.E. Wright Drive went off because it was struck by lightning.

Technicians told 7 Eyewitness News they are now determining what must be done to repair the siren. Until then, officials said if we have severe weather, it will not sound.
