Sixth Teacher Pleads Guilty in Teacher Testing Scam

JACKSON, Tenn- A sixth Memphis teacher had entered a plea in connection with the teacher certification cheating scam.

The U.S. Attorney's Office said Dante Dower, 40, of Belle Grade, Florida
pleaded guilty Thursday with aiding and abetting in the case.

During the guilty plea hearing, Dowers admitted to meeting wih an aspiring teacher in late 2009 and receiving that teacher's driver's license and a $3,500 payment. He said he then forwarded it to ringleader Clarence Mumford, Senior, 59, of Memphis.

Dowers' plea brings the total number of guilty pleas to six thus far in
the scam.
