OAKFIELD, Tenn. -- Roy Clint Mitchell who shares the same name as his father, a Madison county fire captain, was arrested Thursday according to officials.

The arrest happened on Morisch Rd. around 7:00 P.M. A resident who didn't want to be identified says the meth lab bust happened too close to home.

"I've had enough of drugs in our neighborhood, corrupting our children and just drugs, kids, drugs kids," the resident said.

Mitchell, who faces seven counts of manufacturing meth, was arrested for violating his probation, drug possession, and evading arrest.

Police say a 17-year-old was also arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Kiana Lanier says the allegations are shocking.

"I thought this was a safe neighborhood, I think it's still safe just the people," Lanier said.

Madison County Fire Department says the father didn't know about his son's reported the meth lab.

Chief Eric Turner released a statement saying the following: "The department regrets the incident occurred at the home of one of our firefighters but we stand in full support of our member and feel 100 percent certain he was not involved in any criminal event."

The fire captain does not face any charges, according to officials.

Mitchell is in the Madison county jail on $75,000. He's also serving 11 months in jail for the probation violation.

His initial court appearance is Dec. 19.
